When you ask a range officer which service pistol has had the longest run, the answer is often the 92FS. This version is built for California, with a 10+1 capacity and a listing that says it is California compliant. The barrel is 4.9 inches, and it is chambered in 9mm Luger.

The 92FS is the pistol that millions of people picture when they hear the name Beretta. It has an open slide, a locked breech and a long sight radius, and it is gentle to shoot. Its weight takes the sting out of recoil, and the controls are simple to learn.

The black finish suits a gun of this kind, and it is new in the box. A fresh pistol means you can start your own round count and have a clean history. That is a real plus if you plan to use it for home defense and want to know every detail of its service.

Rules differ from place to place, so check your own state's requirements. The pistol ships to your FFL dealer, and the background check is completed there.
