The P229 Nitron Compact is a straightforward carry-size SIG. It has a 3.9 inch barrel, a 15 round magazine, a black Nitron finish and a 9mm chambering. It is new.

The P229 brings the P226's hammer-fired double-action/single-action design down to a more compact size. The slide and grip are shorter, which helps when carrying concealed, but the metal frame keeps the pistol steady in your hands. Police officers who carried the P229 as a plainclothes or off-duty gun grew to trust it for just that balance.

Nitron is SIG's corrosion-resistant slide finish, and a black coating is a familiar choice that wears well. Fifteen rounds is a sensible load for a pistol this size, and it gives you plenty of reserve for home defense or an afternoon at the range.

If you are new to the double-action/single-action trigger, expect a heavier first pull and a lighter one afterward. A few boxes of practice ammo are enough to get comfortable with it. Other details, such as sights, are shown on the photos. The pistol ships to a licensed dealer you choose. You complete the background check there and take delivery.
