Used Smith & Wesson Model 36-1 .38 Special, 3" Barrel, No Box

Few revolvers have ridden in as many pockets and ankle holsters as the Smith & Wesson Model 36. This is the 36-1 variant, a small five-shot J-frame in .38 Special, and it wears a 3-inch barrel instead of the shorter barrel most people picture. The extra length gives you a longer sight radius and a little more control.

Old Chiefs Special style revolvers earned their reputation with agencies and plainclothes officers who needed something flat and dependable. The action is simple. Pull the trigger, the cylinder turns, the hammer falls. There is nothing to forget under stress, and the gun will wait years in a drawer without complaint.

This example is used and does not come with a box. Since the gun is an older design, take time when you receive it. Check that the cylinder locks up on every chamber, that the ejector rod threads are snug, and that the hammer and trigger move cleanly. Look at the bore and the muzzle for wear. Plain .38 Special target loads are pleasant in a gun this size, while heavier defensive loads will sting a bit in a small frame.

It is sold as described, in used condition. The revolver ships to your chosen FFL dealer, and the background check is handled there.
